NIGHT OWL “Must you always eat like a bird?” her mother-in-law accused. “I’m just never very hungry,” she replied, shrugging off the insult. Later, after kissing her dear sleeping husband, she unzipped the thin seam at her pubis, tucked the shed skin beneath their bed, and flew into the night.
